Let’s Live Together Let’s Live Together

Coinciding with the Arab Deaf Week, Accessibility Services and Programmes Section at Sharjah Museums Authority launched “Let’s Live Together” initiative as part of social responsibility initiatives during the Year of Tolerance.

It was based on the staff’s effective communication with visitors - both people with hearing disability and without (listeners) - in sign language during the two hours of the event. Furthermore, there were showcases from selected museums with guides who explained useful information about the displayed collections in sign language.
This initiative aimed to spread tolerance and reinforce the communication between all segments of the society in an open environment based on respecting others, preventing extremism and supporting social acceptance. It also aimed to strengthen the coexistence of deaf people in the society and create a motivating environment to stimulate the cultural integrity and social harmony. This initiative was based on different values such as love, giving and social equality.

Timings: 10am – 12pm
