1. How many museums are there under Sharjah Museums Authority?

  • 16 museums.

  • The16 museums across Sharjah cover a variety of fields, including Islamic civilisation, arts, culture, heritage, science, archeology, marine life, as well as the history of Sharjah and the region.

  •   Sharjah Archeology museum, Opened in May 10, 1997, is the first established museum.
 
 

  • No. Only VIP groups, school visits, tourist groups of (please specify the number from-- to??), and organization visits require advance booking.

Saturday to Thursday 8 AM - 8 PM  
Friday: 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM
 
 Sharjah Aquarium:
  • Saturday to Thursday 8 AM - 8 PM
    Friday: 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM
    Sunday: Closed
Sharjah Maritime Museum:
  • Saturday to Thursday 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM
    Friday: 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM

  • There are two joint tickets at the museums:

Sharjah Heritage Museum, Sharjah Fort Museum, Sharjah Calligraphy Museum, Bait Al Naboodah Museum & Al Eslah School Museum.
  • (Sharjah Aquarium & Sharjah Maritime Museum joint ticket).

  • Arabic & English only.
  • Other languages may be available on audio guides in some museums (upon availability). Youmay enquire about the audio guide at the museum reception desk.

  • Yes. Wheelchairs are available in all of our museums.

Yes, free parking is available for all museums’ visitors.
 

  • Depending on the museum, the tour takes approximately 30-45 minutes for a generaltour.

  • Yes, free WiFi is available at allSharjahmuseums except Sharjah Heritage Museum, Bait Sheikh Saeed Al Qasimiand Al Eslah SchoolMuseum.

  • Yes, these items are allowed in most areas of the museum, except in museum galleries.
