Sharjah ‎Heritage ‎‎Museum

About The Museum

Sharjah Heritage Museum first opened its doors in 2005 in the Heritage Area. It has been renovated and it re-opened in 2012, in Bait Saeed Al Taweel Al Shamsi, in Heart of Sharjah.

Why visit the museum?

The museum offers a brilliant chance to engage with the heritage of Sharjah and the rich Emirati culture, with a focus on Sharjah residents’ lifestyle over the past decades. Here, you can learn and get inspired by the deep-rooted Arabic customs and traditions which serve as the yardstick for coming generations.

Explore a life full of ‎authenticity and ‎generosity

This museum takes visitors back into the past to learn about the diverse environments where our ancestors lived, from the marine and coastal areas to the mountainous and agricultural ones. This diversity was naturally reflected in their lifestyle, habits and crafts. The museum further highlights the typical Arab’s generous character traits like warm hospitality, and it reveals their traditions and lifestyle in celebrations, marriage ceremonies, scientific performance and livelihoods. It is also keen on entertaining its little visitors by presenting moral folk tales, proverbs and puzzles, all in an interesting atmosphere.
