The Future of Museums – Recover and Reimagine (Real and virtual challenges)

On the occasion of International Museum Day, Sharjah Museums Authority is organizing a virtual session titled "The Future of Museums – Recover and Reimagine (Real and Virtual Challenges)." Each year, the International Council of Museums (ICOM) selects the title and theme of International Museum Day, and the 18th of May is earmarked to highlight a topic or issue of international importance to society and museums.

The authority's virtual session will address the challenges and innovative best practices in both the museum and tourism sectors, focusing on the role of institutions in these sectors not only in coexistence and adaptation, but also in prosperity during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The museum entry is free during the following days:
  • The Holy Month of Ramdhan (Islamic Calendar).
  • International Museum Day on 18th of May.
  • Martyr's Day on 1st of December.
  • UAE National Day on 2nd of December. 

The museum is closed during the following:
  • 29th & 30th of Ramadan (Islamic calendar).
  • First day of Eid Al-Fitr (Islamic calendar).
  • 9th of Dhul Hijjah (Islamic calendar).
  • First day of Eid Al Adha (Islamic calendar).
