Open Call for Digital Exhibition "Museums for Equality: Diversity in Times of Adversity"

Location: SMA Date:23 April 2020 - 10 May 2020
What is International Museum Day?
Every year since 1977, the International Council of Museums (ICOM) organizes International Museum Day (IMD).
The theme of IMD is chosen annually by ICOM to highlight museum issues in society.
In 2020, museums around the world will celebrate this day under the theme “Museums for Equality: Diversity and Inclusion”.

OPEN CALL FOR PARTICIPATION
Are you an artist, a musician or a poet? Whatever your skills may be, we invite you to take part in this digital exhibition by sharing your artistic creations to be included in a unique digital exhibition on the occasion of International Museum Day 2020, ‘Diversity in Times of Adversity’.

With the current crisis and lockdowns as a result of Covid-19, we have realized how vulnerable creativity is and at the same time it is the one thing that has truly brought us all together, and where we found solace in this difficult time.

We would like to take this opportunity and celebrate this year’s IMD with all of you and share these moments of creativity and solidarity via our digital platforms.

We are inviting young artists ages 16-35 to submit an inspiring piece of work responding to this year’s IMD theme and the global need for creativity during this international health crisis. This year, the crucial theme of IMD coincides with a worldwide health crisis.  We believe in the role and power of creativity, art and design to bring people together. Everyone has something to contribute and we will share your contributions through this specially curated digital exhibition.

To take part, all you need to do is send us an original image or video of your creative work made at home. Please note that submissions must be created specifically for this purpose. Do not share older works. The work created can be in any medium. However please keep in mind the following:
